ZETTL Batch Process Distiller
The Batch Process Distiller (BPD) complements the ZETTL product range with systems for the treatment of mercury-containing waste. This includes dental waste from dentistry, button cells, thermometers, mercury-containing sludge, rectifiers and fluorescent powders, to name but a few. BPDs are also the method of choice for increasing the purity of metallic mercury.
The BPD thus also serves as a preliminary stage for the production of high-purity mercury (-> Mercury Fine Distiller) and for the production of mercury with sufficient purity for stabilization to HgS (-> Mercury Stabilization Unit) and subsequent landfilling.
The systems meet the highest safety standards with fully automatic processes tailored to the respective material. In addition to the other ZETTL systems, the BPDs are equipped with thermal post-combustion.
Technology
- Powder component (metakaolin and latent hydraulic component)
- Liquid component (activator - based on Na or K)
- Backlog
Applications
- Residues from uranium ore mining contaminants originating from water treatment plants
- Water treatment residues
- Residues from the cleaning of pipes from the oil and gas industry
- Adsorber material such as zeolites (natural or radioactive contaminants)
- Water-impermeable salts possible with further additives
Variants
The following products are used for specific tasks
MRT - Batch Process Distiller
The former MRT batch process distiller program with service and spare parts service is integrated into the ZETTL delivery and service program.
Size: 100 l, 200 l, 2 x 200 l, 1000 l
MFD - Mercury Fine Distiller
ZETTL offers its Mercury Fine Distiller for the production of saleable metallic mercury. In a two-stage process, it is possible to produce saleable mercury with a purity of up to 99.99999 %.
This means that the mercury produced with the Mercury Fine Distiller meets the requirements of research institutes and operators of porosimetry systems.
Stage 1
3 x 80 l (approx. 1,000 kg) for the production of mercury with a purity of
of up to 99.999 % - approx. 14 days per batch
Level 2
approx. 1,000 kg for the production of mercury with a purity of
of up to 99.99999 % - approx. 28 days for 1,000 kg
