ZETTL GmbH, a Munich-based company with a long tradition in mechanical and apparatus engineering, becomes a supporting member of the VDI Halle District Association

The traditional company ZETTL from Munich has expanded its network of specialized locations in recent years and founded branches in Berga (2018) and Dessau (2024). The technical center in Roßla was added in 2023. "Central Germany has enormous technical potential and many generations of trained and highly qualified technicians," says Michael Zettl, Managing Director of the company. This successful company development also led to initial contacts with the Halle district association of the VDI. On February 11, 2025, it was agreed with its board of directors that ZETTL GmbH would become a supporting member to strengthen the mutual network base.

ZETTL GmbH intends to utilize synergies from its cooperation with the VDI. With its 130,000 members, 46 district associations, around 75 district groups and 3,500 members working worldwide, the VDI offers a strong network and backbone for SMEs at a local, regional and national level. Arne Wasner, Chairman of the VDI Hallescher Bezirksverein, praised the commitment of ZETTL GmbH as an "investment driver that invests large sums and is exemplary."

VDI and ZETTL GmbH see common interfaces not only in the traditional markets of drying and vacuum technology, but also in new business areas such as the recycling of critical types of waste materials or the solvent-free production of synthetic rubber. The latter is a project from the broad network of ZETTL GmbH, which is managed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Polymer Research in Schkopau. ZETTL supplied twin-shaft reactors for this project, which were custom-designed according to customer requirements. Arne Wasner and Michael Zettl are particularly interested in the cooperation with the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Köthen. A ZETTL pilot rotary kiln is operated there and development work is carried out on thermal recycling of lithium batteries and thermal processing of biomass, among other things. ZETTL GmbH is a cooperation partner of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Department of Applied Biosciences and Process Engineering.

The board of the VDI Hallescher Bezirksverein is very pleased and confident about the newly sealed partnership.
